Picture-in-Picture mode in Android finally available worldwide

One of the main innovations of Android 8.0 Oreo has become the native support for the “picture in picture” mode for any application. Developers of popular services quickly implemented this feature in their programs, in particular, YouTube Red subscribers received the feature.

Of course, many did not like Google’s solution, because the “picture in picture” mode – a feature of gadgets on Android 8.0 Oreo – should also be present in the free version of the service. It turned out that the company listened to user complaints and implemented the function in the YouTube app for Android.

According to messages in the corresponding branch on Reddit, the ability to minimize the video to a small window appeared on YouTube 13.16.55, however, it does not work for all videos. Most likely, the company is now testing the innovation on a small group of users, and later will release it for everyone.
