Picture-in-Picture mode finally appeared on YouTube for Android

One of the main innovations of Android 8.0 Oreo was the native support of the mode “picture in picture” for any application. The developers of popular services quickly realized this opportunity in their programs, in particular, the subscribers got YouTube Red subscribers.

Of course, many didn’t like Google’s decision, because the “picture-in-picture” mode – a feature of Android 8.0 Oreo gadgets – should be present in the free version of the service. It turned out that the company listened to users’ complaints and implemented the function in the YouTube application for Android.

According to reports in the corresponding branch on Reddit, the ability to minimize video in a small window appeared on YouTube 13.16.55, but does not work for all videos. Most likely, now the company is testing innovation on a small group of users, and later will release it for everyone.
